Breathe in, breathe out.

The first thing I notice at PUST @pustkaffebar isn’t the coffee. It’s the structure.

This large timbered wooden box lit by warm yellow bulbs, somewhere between workshop and theatre. It evokes a sense of theatricality to the space, as in the moments take the centre of the stage.

It brings me back to architecture school, to theatre workshops, to years spent surrounded by ideas, when we would dare to get lost in wandering thoughts, when sketches and prototypes carried a disproportionate amount of hope. Back when projects felt larger than life and somehow more within reach at the same time.

A coffee, a scone, conversations unfolding across the tiered seats.

Around me,
people working
people meeting
passing through.

Above them, beams, and cables, and raw materials, joints and connections, all the quiet mechanics holding things together.

Maybe that’s why I like this place so much. Not because it reminds me of the past, but because it reminds me of a feeling I hadn’t visited in a while:

Of that moment when an idea is still taking shape, and anything seems possible.

Are we still talking about coffee?

Kuro @kuro.oslo feels more like stepping into some

Kuro @kuro.oslo feels more like stepping into someone’s very well-designed living room than a café. Spanish music playing, people filming in one corner, curated clothes shop in one side of the space, and all this beautiful mix of wood, and soft textures holding the space together.

Had a funky Indonesian pour-over with an acidic, floral, almost winery-like taste. So good!!!

Only mystery of the afternoon: where are the prices? Just trust the process, apparently. 😆 It might be part of the minimalist aesthetic haha

This week I had coffee with @chefbangkokk at @daegens - a small café and bakeri tucked into a quiet green oasis by Akerselva in Sagene. One of those places that feels slightly hidden, even when it isn’t.

We shared a Geisha by @timwendelboe , paired with a kardemomme sourdough bun that honestly deserved its own moment. So unique!

Good coffee, great convo, cardamom everywhere.

A small gem worth slowing down for. 😎✌️

I had a fruity washed Colombia V60 and twenty quiet minutes before opening the laptop. Just sipping slowly and catching a bit of sun.

An experience translated into flavour, that’s what I could say about BaalKaffe by @chefbangkokk

He runs a project rooted in a food lab philosophy and inspired by cooking outdoors over open fire, and his coffee carries that same raw, sensory, deeply Norwegian experience into the cup.

This batch (El Jardin - Colombia) was roasted by Romerike Kaffebrenneri @romerikekaffebrenneri , a world-awarded roaster that also works with top-tier places like Hakone.

The cup is bright and clean, with some fruit and floral notes and a light sweetness at the end. Easy drink but still expressive.

The perfect brew for this lazy rainy Sunday.

Tucked away in Oslo Sentrum, Fuglen is one of those spots that feels like stepping into a different era, in the best way possible.

I went for an espresso tonic, and wow… easily one of the most refreshing coffee drinks I’ve had in a while. They used the Sitio Fazendinha Espresso 🇧🇷, and you can really taste those deep notes of dark chocolate and toffee coming through, balanced perfectly with the citrusy fizzy sparkle of the tonic. Super crisp, super satisfying. ❤️

The space itself is just as memorable as the coffee. Think vintage furniture, warm tones, and a mix of textures that somehow feels both nostalgic and effortlessly cool. It’s vibrant, creative, and the kind of place where you want to sit for hours, whether you’re working (like me), chatting, or just soaking it all in.

Definitely a must-visit if you’re in Oslo :)

been coming here since i moved to the city, and it’s easy to see why they’ve built such a strong presence (and keep expanding).

right in the middle of fast-paced storgata, but somehow the space still feels calm and artistic, like a small pause from the city.

i am not usually into stuffed croissants, but their pistachio one is easily one of the best in oslo, rich, balanced, and actually worth the hype.

the nitro iced coffee is just as good: creamy, smooth, and full of flavour.

You must try it if you’re around hakone.

This week, @chefbangkokk and I visited a little independent roastery in the heart of Oslo: Lille Oslo Kaffebrenneri. @lilleoslokaffebrenneri

We had a washed Peru, deeply chocolatey, warm, and comforting. The space is small and cozy, the barista serving us was very warm and friendly too. We had our coffees while beans roasted just behind me, filling the room with that unmistakable aroma.

We also learned that the war has been affecting coffee bean imports to Norway. In response, local roasteries have been supporting one another, sharing supply so everyone can keep going until things get to normal. A nice reminder that the coffee community looks after its own.

Just a few steps away there’s a big chain café. But if you ask me… I’d step into this one instead. ;) Support local businesses!

A friend once told me about a small café in Grønland, and she couldn’t have been more right. Papegøye @papegoye.oslo is a colourful, vibrant little gem just five minutes from the Oslo Botanical Garden, quietly waiting to be discovered.

Step inside and colour takes over. Vintage chairs in every shade, the kind of place that sparks ideas before the coffee even arrives.

Then came the surprise: an espresso tonic, bright and sparkling, a rare find around Oslo. Of course, I had to try the English scones too, and they did not disappoint.

They’ve won many awards, and they’re not shy about it. Good for them, and even better for us who get to sip this delicious coffee.

Some cafés feel like the beginning of a habit. I have a feeling I’ll be back here often.

Away from the busy streets of central Oslo, on a quiet corner of Åsengata, sits the charming Åpent Bakeri Åsengata/Torshov.

Part of one of Oslo’s most beloved of the popular chains, this spot feels especially special. They take pride in their craft, shelves filled with beautiful breads and baked goods. And the coffee is pretty decent too!

Fun fact: when this café closes, the space transforms into a cozy pizza house in the evening.

With its lovely 1920s decor, a refreshing iced Americano, and the long-awaited March sunlight finally returning, it feels like a small promise of summer. A perfect, quiet place to sit, work, and simply enjoy!

On the corner of Grünersgate 1 sits Tim Wendelboe @timwendelboe , ranked the #2 best coffee shop in the world in 2026, and it feels like it.

If you’re serious about coffee, this is a must-visit in Oslo. The space is minimal and warm, with typical Scandinavian wooden fittings, clean lines, and shelves filled with beautifully displayed coffee beans. There’s something quietly confident about it with no distractions, just quality.

We chose a Geisha coffee and a double cappuccino. The Geisha was delicate and complex, floral and bright, while the cappuccino was perfectly balanced, light roasted, silky foam - everything tastes like a ritual.

Their filter coffee selection is extensive and rotates regularly, making every visit slightly different from the last, giving you a new story in every cup.

You can tell someone was really happy with his coffee :)
